The relative amalgamation agreements were undertaken in compliance with the target plan guidelines by the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg, further to measures as to the common "Platte" or “Platform” school board, water board and sewage board issues, "knowledgeable of the responsibilities arising in relation to the citizenship and in the certainty of catering to the collective good".

The annexation of Pinache went into effect as of the 1st January, 1970 whilst the annexation of Serres and Iptingen became effective as of the 1st January, 1974.

Amongst other issues, the separate boroughs of Pinache, Serres and Iptingen duly safeguarded the retention of their place-name as a possibly future district municipality, further to retaining a number of representative town council seats adjustable to population figure increases, for the local municipality council election purposes.
